The Virginia Department of Social Services is committed to helping households affected by COVID-19 in meeting their immediate home energy needs. Virginia households that would not typically qualify for other home energy assistance programs may be eligible to receive aid through the new Virginia COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program. Please see below for a list of eligibility requirements.
The application window for the Virginia COVID-19 EAP has closed, effective November 20. The Virginia COVID-19 Energy Assistance Program is designed to assist low-income households who are not eligible to receive assistance from the existing energy assistance programs because:
Depending on the availability of funds, the program will provide a one-time payment of $300 to assist eligible households with payment of a heating or cooling expense.
